Ronisha Carson is an Associate Attorney at The Harris Law Firm’s Denver office, where she serves as a first point of contact for individuals and families who are beginning their divorce, family law, and estate planning journeys.
Ronisha’s path to becoming a lawyer was driven by her analytical mind and her deeply rooted belief that by providing thoughtful and comprehensive assistance, she can make a meaningful contribution to the lives of those navigating challenges within the legal landscape. A Seattle native, she earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Seattle University. Post undergraduate school, Ronisha worked in administration for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and King County Family Court before moving to Houston, Texas where she attended law school at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Ronisha attended law school as a single mother when her son was three and despite the odds, she was able to graduate in three years earing her Juris Doctor. During law school, Ronisha also interned for the Earl Carl Institute for Legal & Social Policy, Inc. as a Student Attorney representing underprivileged populations in estate planning and property law matters.
Following law school, Ronisha gained invaluable experience working as a Guardian ad Litem for the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center where she advocated for the best interests of the child in Dependency & Neglect, Delinquency, Truancy, and Domestic Violence Civil Protection Order cases. She then went on to enjoy a successful career in law, eventually becoming a licensed attorney in two states (Colorado and Georgia) and amassing a wide breadth of experience in domestic relations, child welfare, probate, bankruptcy, real estate, and small business consulting. It was her work advocating for families and children forced to navigate the system due to their vulnerabilities, however, that sharpened her focus on the field of divorce and family law.
In her role as an Intake Attorney Specialist at The Harris Law Firm, Ronisha makes it a point to maintain a composed and empathetic demeanor during client consultations and foster the candor and trust that allows her to effectively identify their needs. She recognizes the elevated stakes often involved in family law and estate planning matters and the fact that prospective clients entrust her with safeguarding information involving two of the most important aspects of their lives: family and legacy. This understanding motivates her to provide the level of support clients with important issues deserve, and to offer precise guidance and assurance that they are matched with an attorney best suited to address their specific legal requirements.
Ronisha’s extensive professional experience, long history of advocating for children, and own personal experiences with family disputes and the process of obtaining legal guardianship for her niece, make her an insightful and compassionate advocate for those facing all types of turbulence and legal predicaments. Her colleagues and clients appreciate her personability and communication and benefit greatly from her love of utilizing her analytical skills to dissect and solve legal issues involving individuals who are just embarking on their legal journeys.
Outside of the courtroom, Ronisha enjoys cooking, hiking, yoga, and staying active. She also loves to read, particularly her favorite genre: historical fiction.
