Mary Bolf

Mary Bolf brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to her role as a Paralegal at The Harris Law Firm, where she supports clients navigating a range of divorce and family law matters.

Mary's path to becoming a paralegal unfolded unexpectedly. She transitioned from a long tenure in judicial roles in both New Mexico and Colorado – where she was held stints in family law, juvenile, criminal, and probate – to becoming a paralegal after a recommendation from a former colleague. This transition felt like a natural progression, allowing her to deepen her understanding of family law while continuing to make a meaningful impact on people's lives.

Throughout her career, Mary has been involved in important projects and leadership roles, including co-creating a program for Denver District Court staff to explore various court departments and developing best practices manuals for domestic violence cases as part of a statewide initiative in New Mexico. She was also nominated and accepted into the Denver District Court’s Path for Supervision program, which aims to help participants become or be better judicial supervisors.

Mary's approach to family law is characterized by a commitment to demystifying legal processes for her clients and ensuring they feel empowered and informed every step of the way. She believes in fostering open, honest communication and strives to establish real connections with each client, finding common ground and building trust to facilitate smoother interactions.

In addition to her legal acumen, Mary has a blend of personal qualities that make her a highly effective paralegal. She is known for her quick grasp of new concepts, her proficiency in executing tasks efficiently, and her ability to use her wit and compassion to put clients at ease, even as they navigate major life changes. She is also deeply committed her community, volunteering with organizations such as the National Sports Center for the Disabled and being a proud LGBTQIA+ ally who advocates for inclusivity and equality in all aspects of life.

Outside of work, Mary is a self-proclaimed goofball with a penchant for dark humor. Originally from California and raised in New Mexico, she pursued her education at Trinidad State Junior College, with a focus on criminal justice. In her free time, Mary indulges in a variety of hobbies, including bowling, scuba diving, crafting (with a particular fondness for disco-themed creations), and cheering on her favorite hockey teams.
