Jolyn Noel Belk is an Attorney at The Harris Law Firm who focuses her practice on divorce and family law. Jolyn knows that the court system, especially in family law, can be complex and overwhelming. Her goal is to help her clients understand and navigate the process, work with them to prepare their best case, and ensure they know someone they can trust is on their side.
Jolyn earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming, where she graduated magna cum laude and in the top 20 of the College of Arts & Sciences. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law and was named Top Pro Bono Student Attorney by the State of Wyoming for her work in the University of Wyoming Domestic Violence Assistance Program. It was her work with the Domestic Violence program, which gave her an opportunity to help families with little to no resources obtain fair outcomes in their cases, that shaped her practice and passion for family law.
As an advocate for people facing some of the most difficult times in their lives, Jolyn makes it a point to listen to her clients and establish the candor and communication that builds trust. She knows every case is unique and that every client has a story to be told. By taking a personalized approach, she’s able to tell these stories and tailor strategies and solutions to her clients’ specific needs. Jolyn utilizes mediation, negotiation, and litigation to ensure the best possible outcome for each individual client.
Prior to joining The Harris Law Firm, Ms. Belk worked at a family law firm in Colorado and for a general practice firm in Oklahoma, where she practiced primarily family law with some estate planning, bankruptcy, and was court-appointed as Guardian Ad Litem in divorce cases. Jolyn is also passionate about mentoring new family law attorneys. She helps guide and develop their skills and knowledge and assists them in navigating the legal profession. Jolyn often co-counsels with other attorneys in the firm to promote the pursuit of excellence in service to clients.
When not advocating for her clients, Jolyn loves reading and listening to books and watching football - go Pokes and go Bills! She was a founding member of the virtual book club for all staff at The Harris Law Firm. She enjoys hiking, playing disc golf, coaching or watching youth sports, weight training and, even after completing a marathon, several half-marathons, and numerous 5k’s, still has a love-hate relationship with running.
