Crisanta Duran is an Associate Attorney & Counselor at Law at The Harris Law Firm who has earned more than 40 awards and recognitions throughout her career, including the Metropolitan State University of Denver Legislator of the Year Award and the Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce Top 25 Most Powerful Women Award. She was originally interested in a legal career as a means to ensure that people from all backgrounds have access to reliable counsel and fair outcomes in difficult times, so it is with great pride and purpose that she helps our firm handle complicated cases involving divorce, family law, estate planning, and more.
A lifelong Coloradan, Crisanta grew up in Northglenn and Arvada, and she has lived in Denver for many years. Her locality makes her feel more closely connected to her clients, who appreciate her genuine drive to secure the best possible outcomes for them. Crisanta stayed local for her higher education, too; she attended the University of Denver and completed her J.D. at the University of Colorado School of Law at Boulder.
Throughout her career, Crisanta has always looked for opportunities to go beyond people’s expectations. She has shown her dedication by serving as the first Latina Speaker of the House in the United States. She was the chief spokesperson for the chamber, presided over legislative sessions, made strategic plans to advance policy agendas, assigned legislative members to committees, and directed the legislative process.
Some of Crisanta Duran’s career highlights have been advocating for undocumented students to be able to go to college, helping people secure affordable housing and pursue better jobs by gaining access to the right occupational training. The common thread among these defining moments is that she empowered people to ensure their own economic security and quality of life.
