Community

While the spirit of neighborliness was important on the frontier because neighbors were so few, it is even more important now because our neighbors are so many.
~Lady Bird Johnson

The Harris Law Firms' strong commitment to the community is reflected in the many ways our attorneys and staff donate their time. First, and perhaps foremost, each and every attorney at the Firm handles at least one pro bono client at all times through Metro Volunteer Lawyers. In 2004, The Harris Law Firm proudly accepted the “Law Firm of the Year Award,” presented by Metro Volunteer Lawyers. Every year this award distinguishes one Colorado Firm for their dedication to pro bono work.Today Rich Harris volunteers his time as Chairman of the Board of MVL.

The Firm also volunteers at numerous charities and fund raising events. The Harris Law Firm was recently recognized for their outstanding participation in the annual “Roll Out the Barrels” food drive to help the homeless and needy in Denver.

A particular emphasis of the Firm is in promoting public education and fund-raising to address the problem of child abductions, almost one-half of which occur in the context of family law cases. Firm President Rich Harris has addressed many groups as part of a community-wide campaign to prevent child abductions. Additionally, the Firm has volunteered with the Missing Children’s Task Force during Missing Children’s Awareness Week.

All members of the Firm are encouraged to give their time and energy to charitable organizations in our community, and especially those involving children. The Harris Law Firm strongly believes in the importance of contributing to local charitable organizations, and if you have questions or comments about our involvement in the community, we would like to hear from you.
